A Building Survey (formerly known to many as a Structural Survey) is a better option if you are considering purchasing a property that is listed, or is of unconventional construction, or in need of renovation. This will give you a detailed and comprehensive report and the surveyor will be at your property for three to five hours. The report will provide you with:
- Any major problems with the building
- Suspected problems like timber infestation or damp that might need specialist advice
- A closer look at boundaries,grounds and outbuildings
- A more detailed assessment of the various elements of the property and their condition
- Advice on the issues uncovered and remedial works required
